Why wasn't there any drummer in the band on the first 2 albums ? Our music is centred on a rather personal approach of guitar playing, machines and singing and that's enough to block the sound spectrum.
These are the main creative components but we also like to play with other musicians.
What were the festivals public reactions? How was the show with Cannibal Corpse ? Our best memory is the Immortal shadows fest in Przno (CZ) where the public was really receptive and where we play at an excellent time, some even came on the stage with us to play with cardboard guitars during the soli, it was really crazy, I thought I was a star! The Brutal Assault fest was also nice, the public was really welcoming, a lot a photos were taken with fans and many autographs signed even on passports!
As to the show with Cannibal Corpse it is really a bad memory since we started to play at 8p.m just when they opened the doors so at the beginnning there was only a few people in the hall. Besides, our sound was lower than the other bands' : we could hear the guys shouting while we were playing. We must also add that Cannibal tour manager with his wig made of skin of bum told the sound engineer not to let us finish our soundcheck (and we were the last ones to set it!) so that we discovered the definitive sound during the show! It was quite amazing but fortunately the sound was good and now we know how it must be.
Why do you sweat your guts out going to Czech Republic each summer? You don't find dates in France? It's a country where the public is very receptive, we can play in big fests with important bands and it's something we really enjoy :driving for 40 hours to stay, 43 hours on the site and 15 years of memories.
Who composes what in the band? The four of us are musicians so we all compose. PMR conceptualizes, arranges and structures and Jérémy deals with the lyrics and sings.
What's the point of playing such a speedy music ? Well, sorry but it's our conception of guitar. Maybe there's no interest but we like playing this way and with our style we hope we afford something new.
Which one is a pain in the arse on tour? Have you ever feel like killing each other? Yannick is always trying to fuck when we sleep next to him. In fact, we're really friends, we get on well with each other and we always find a way to settle things. And sometimes a few drinks help ...
How and when did you meet? Jeremy and PMR were pacing Toulouse metal world for many years when they decided to play together after the splitting-up of their respective bands. PMR met Yannick and Nikosby chance while they were auditioning for another band and hit it off straight away so that he stole them to the other band.
Why don't you play a more commercial metal? We don't play a Metal according to the conception of a journalist supposed to know THE truth about music. When we're playing we are who we are and nothing else.
How would you define your style? Styles are something invented to prevent people from being really creative and to blossom. Our music is mainly defined by the instruments we use to compose : guitars/vox/machines but each member has its definition of Lex Talionis' style.
